Flashback Friday - 1992

In 1992, at 21 years old, I graduated from the National Academy of Paralegal Studies. Shortly after, I was sworn in as a Deputy at York County Sheriff's Office. I was assigned to the Narcotics Division and worked with a team to investigate drug crimes. I would go on to graduate from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy in 1993. Upon graduation, I transitioned to a Patrol Deputy. Little did I know all that was to come!

Pictured with me is Deputy Jackie Kirkland and Family Court Judge Lee Alford.

Check in on Fridays for a look back at special moments and achievements in my law enforcement career.

Check out my latest interview with WSOC-TV’s Tina Terry.

“I know what it takes. I’ve lived it for 7 and a half years, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.”

“She wants to continue supporting officers, provide more mental health support for them, and improve the relationship with the community.”
